Description:

(Betamethasone + Phenylephrine + Lignocaine)-(0.05%+0.1%+2.5%) is a combination medicine used for the treatment of piles (hemorrhoids). It relieves the pain, swelling, itching, and discomfort associated with the passing of stools in people who suffer from this problem in the anal area.

Betamethasone + Phenylephrine + Lignocaine must be used as per the doctor's prescription. It is for external use only. Before using the medicine, check the label for directions of use and apply gently on the clean and dry affected area. You should always wash your hands after applying it. Avoid getting it into your eyes or mouth. If accidental exposure occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.

Pharmacology

Betamethasone: A corticosteroid with primarily glucocorticoid activity. It inhibits the release of inflammatory mediators by inducing phospholipase A2 inhibitory lipase (lipocortins), thereby reducing inflammation.

Phenylephrine: A sympathomimetic agent that primarily affects alpha-adrenergic receptors, causing vasoconstriction of arterioles in the nasal mucosa, conjunctiva, and body, which reduces inflammation locally.

Lidocaine: Alters signal conduction in neurons by blocking fast voltage-gated Na+ channels, resulting in the inhibition of pain transmission.

Adult Dose: Apply to the perianal region or rectally. May apply up to 2-4 times/day, especially at night, in the morning, or after a bowel movement that may exacerbate hemorrhoid(s).
